James Corlett becomes one of the youngest managing partner of a commercial practice in the region

Today we are celebrating the appointment of James Corlett as managing partner of Beyond Corporate. Beyond have been members of The Business Network South Manchester for the last four years and we are delighted by the announcement.

Beyond Law Group has today announced the promotion of James Corlett to Managing Partner of its specialist corporate and commercial practice, Beyond Corporate.

James’ promotion comes following the most successful year to date for Beyond Law Group and its three specialist practices; Beyond Corporate, McAlister Family Law and Beyond Conveyancing. The Group’s turnover has increased from £8.8m in FY22 to £10.9m in FY23, and Beyond Corporate’s turnover has increased by 22% over the 12-month period.

James’ promotion will support this rapid growth, seeing him taking ownership of the day-to-day management of Beyond Corporate, as well as the development and management of the practice and its specialist corporate, commercial, real estate, construction, employment and dispute resolution teams.

Importantly, James’ promotion allows Beyond Law Group’s Chief Executive and Founder, Matt Fleetwood, to increase his focus on the overall growth and direction of Beyond Law Group as it enters its next phase of exponential growth and builds on its vision and approach.

James will sit with Matt and McAlister Family Law’s Managing Partner, Amanda McAlister, on the Group’s board with other board executives across the Group’s practices as well as finance, IT and people.

A specialist in commercial law, James joined Beyond Law Group as Partner and Head of Beyond Corporate’s Commercial Team in August 2021, having previously held top positions at international law firm Fieldfisher working across both their London and Manchester offices.

A true trailblazer in the legal sphere, James has climbed the ranks in the country’s most prestigious legal rankings, such as the Legal 500, and has been recommended by the International Franchising body: Who’s Who Legal.

James’ promotion makes him one of the youngest Managing Partners in the region which is reflective of Beyond Law Group’s ongoing commitment to developing, supporting and nurturing its talent at all levels, and moving its people forward in their careers as quickly as they develop.
